Hyderabad Police have been awarded the Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service Award for 2017 for their mobile app HYDCOP, an official statement from the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate said.
The award was presented at the Golden Peacock awards ceremony held in Dubai on Wednesday in the presence of business leaders during IOD India’s 27th World Congress on Business Excellence and Innovation.
United Arab Emirates’ Culture and Knowledge Development Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan presented the awards, said the statement.
Additional commissioner of police (law and order) V V Srinivasa Rao and joint commissioner of police, special branch, Pramod Kumar received the award.
HYDCOP with the tagline “Empowering front-line police officers” is a mobile app developed by Hyderabad Police that was launched last year towards achieving global policing standards.
The app is meant for internal use by the police and it makes required information accessible instantaneously to frontline police officers. It helps address individual needs of police officers and aims to improve their morale and satisfaction and eventually lead to higher standards of functioning, added the statement.
