Can an Indian company make a smartwatch that can take on the likes of Apple, Motorola and Samsung? Bengaluru-based startup Witworks is trying to do just that with their latest smartwatch called Blink.
The smartwatch is powered by their home-brewed OS called Marvin, which is forked from Android. The specs of the device hold up to those of most of the other smartwatches currently in the market.
Founded in 2014 by IIT Kharagpur alumni Somnath Meher, Ankit DP and Chandrashekhar Iyer, Witworks recently raised funding from Fireside Ventures, Investopad, P39 Capital and other investors.
The Blink smartwatch comes at a starting price of Rs 12,999 and will be available in two colours: stainless steel black and stainless steel silver. Blink will be available for pre-order at Rs 2,500 starting September 30, 2016 and will be shipped in November to the user.
