Hacker group Legion says Net4, Logix and NDTV have been compromised
Hacker group Legion has said that it has compromised Net4 and Logix, companies that provide web services like hosting and e-mail.
The group, which compromised accounts of journalists Barkha Dutt, Ravish Kumar, fugitive tycoon Vijay Mallya and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi told FactorDaily over an encrypted chat: We would like to confirm the public speculations that both Net4 and Logix are rooted.
Having “root access” to a device or system means that they have complete access to its files. They said that television network NDTV has also been rooted.
The group sent us a link to a data set from Logix for proof.
“It is one of the email providers we got access to in our bulk data collection plan,” the group said. “They got rooted only because they housed NDTV, which was sad).”
And for proof of NDTV hack, they sent us screenshots hosted on Imgur. “We dumped all the e-mails from logix already, so it’s fine,” they said.
Earlier today, we interviewed the hacker group Legion (read the full interview here).
FactorDaily had also reported that Net4 was among the companies that could have been compromised. The company had denied it at the time. Legion is yet to release data from Net4, but said it could do that after it is done with its targets.
